Accurate Quantum Computation

Today, we are able to measure accurate expectation values on quantum devices of O(100) qubits and circuits of O(1000) gates. We can perform quantum computations beyond the reach of direct classical simulation. With these capabilities, quantum advantage is no longer unattainable on near term systems. In this talk, I will outline both the capabilities that open this possibility, and how these capabilities will be strengthened as we continue to advance scale, quality, and speed, and ultimately introduce error corrected computation. But beware, not all “logical qubits” are created equal!
