Quantum sensor technologies based on neutral atoms are intrinsically flexible and robust. By deploying disparate quantum atomic designs, we can exploit key elements of the growing space economy, including time and gravity. Time has long been the leading edge of commercial quantum systems with atomic clocks at the heart of the multi-billion-dollar global navigation satellite system infrastructure. Emerging innovations in compact optical atomic clocks both provide an upgrade path for our GPS/GNSS backbone, as well as expand applications to alternative and lower cost commercial platforms. In parallel, space-based quantum gravity sensors allow us to monitor critical resources back here on earth, as well as explore previously untapped stores.
