Quantum Phase Estimation (QPE) can yield exact results when simulating molecules, but still requires a large number of quantum gates and long runtimes. QC Ware and Boehringer Ingelheim have joined forces to explore ways of enhancing the performance of QPE. We present a simple method to increase the quality of initial states and a new factorization method to reduce the number of quantum gates required.
