Since 2020, Qubit by Qubit, an international non-profit initiative focused on accessible quantum education, has trained over 25,000 students, educators, and members of the workforce from 100+ countries in quantum computing. In this talk, I will discuss the current quantum education landscape and best practices for developing effective trainings and educational programs to increase interest, engagement, and retention in pursuing careers in QIS. I will also discuss the importance of taking a DEI-focused approach to QIS education and the steps necessary to recruit and retain students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds.
