Tensor networks, which represent quantum states as connections of small tensors, are a powerful method for efficiently expressing various quantum states, allowing for the investigation of quantum many-body systems using classical computers. Moreover, by applying tensor network representations to general tensor-type data, we can discover a wide range of applications that may lead to computations utilizing quantum computing. In this talk, I will discuss examples of such applications of tensor networks and introduce the activities of the Endowed Chair of Quantum Software at the University of Tokyo related to these developments.
