An Introduction to Superconducting Qubits
Superconducting qubits are viewed as one of the most viable qubit modalities for reaching quantum advantage and fault tolerance due to their fast gate speeds and clear path to scaling. This talk will explore how superconducting qubits work, their advantages, and the scaling technologies being leveraged to build increasingly larger and better performing superconducting quantum systems.

What's Next for Quantum Programming with Horizon Quantum
Triple Alpha, Horizon Quantum’s integrated development environment, is designed to enable the creation of sophisticated, hardware-agnostic quantum programs. Most traditional quantum programming frameworks constrain developers to static circuits, but Triple Alpha’s Turing-complete languages can remove these limitations. In this tutorial, we’ll walk through how developers can write and compile familiar control structures—such as repeat-until and increment loops—to today’s hardware. We’ll also show how Triple Alpha can compile a single program to multiple devices and introduce its mid-circuit measurement capability. Because Triple Alpha can publish compiled programs as web APIs from any compiler level—allowing quantum functionality to be accessed from Python, web interfaces, or even Excel macros—we’ll conclude the tutorial with an overview of this type of end-to-end workflow.

IBM’s Roadmap and Illustration of Sample-Based Quantum Diagonalization
In this talk, I will present a tutorial on Sample-based quantum diagonalization (SQD), a technique for finding eigenvalues and eigenvectors of quantum operators, such as a quantum system Hamiltonian, using quantum and distributed classical computing together. I will show how SQD workloads run on IBM superconducting hardware enable finding approximate ground-state energies of the nitrogen molecule. I will also outline how developments on IBM’s hardware roadmap make this possible.

PQC: What End Users Need to Know
This talk will demystify Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) for a non-technical audience, focusing on how this transition will impact end users. What will PQC mean for everyday software and hardware, or for online interactions? Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of the quantum threat and the simple, practical steps they can take to ensure their digital information remains secure in the post-quantum era.

Regional Quantum Innovation: Building a Strong Quantum Future in Montana and the Rocky Mountain West
In the fireside chat, Jayne Morrow will discuss her work in advancing Quantum CORE at Montana State University in the US, where she serves as CEO. How is Dr. Morrow translating her leadership experience at the US National Institute of Standards and Technology and the National Science and Technology Council into driving this regional effort to strengthen regional innovation, entrepreneurship, and workforce development? How can other regional quantum efforts compete with the attention and investment historically given to the US West Coast and the Northeast?

How Optically Linked Silicon Spins Overcome the Challenges of Scale
To reach the scale needed for commercially meaningful applications at a practical cost, every qubit technology will eventually benefit from expanding beyond a single module. Optically Linked Silicon Spins, a type of colour centre, were specifically chosen to be able to meet the needs of commercial applications by combining the compute power of spin qubits and the communication capabilities of photons, all in scalable silicon.
