While there has been tremendous progress lately in improving the individual specifications of qubits and their operations, we have far too few qubits by several orders of magnitudes to achieve Practical Quantum Advantage. Are we destined to have small quantum computers that can only work on small problems for which classical computers already do a good job, or will we break through to the next level of scalability? Will the massive AI data centers now being built handle many of the problems for which we believed we needed quantum computers?
