The New Mexico Consortium (NMC) is a non-profit corporation formed by three New Mexico universities in order to facilitate research in the state of New Mexico, and specifically to increase research collaborations between universities, industry, and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). In this case study, we present the challenges faced and solutions tried in order to provide a direct conduit between LANL research teams and quantum systems from vendors such as D-Wave and QuEra. Topics include federated user management, task management, and hybrid classical-quantum algorithm development.
