On the heels of COP28, it must be noted that instead of meeting goals to reduce temperatures by 1.5 degree C, the temperatures are rising thus prompting the need for accelerated energy transition from sources that emit greenhouse gases to cleaner sources. Some of the fundamental challenges are related to optimizing the production of energy, the complexity of the energy mix for usage, and affordability of energy. Traditional computational models have limitations and there is a high chance that quantum computing will address those limitations. In this talk, I will discuss one of the challenges and path forward with Quantum computing.
