Lasers for Quantum Technology

Lasers are key components for realization of quantum information systems and quantum sensors. They are used in atomic systems for control and manipulation of transitions that serve to realize qubit control and sensing functions. The ultimate performance of quantum systems is currently restricted by technical noise, and in virtually all cases laser noise sets the limit. In this presentation details of WGM-based lasers addressing these performance requirements are described. A Laser Noise Analyzer instrument for characterization of the noise will also be presented.
