Data loading is the first point of failure for any quantum application. We introduce an improved algorithm that constructs distinctively shallow quantum circuits for encoding probability distributions, including heavy-tailed distributions such as Lévy distributions, which are important for financial applications. With HSBC, we encoded the largest financial distributions to date on a 133-qubit IBM Heron QPU, opening the door to near-term applications in quantum finance.
