The Road to Shor Era Quantum Computing

What are the main challenges and potential inflection points on the road to large scale quantum computing? Scaling-up brings its own new challenges. Taking a system able to break RSA 2048 as a benchmark, a cryptographically relevant quantum computer, GQI and the NATO Innovation Fund have undertaken a major project to evaluate these questions up and down the quantum computing stack. This work draws on extensive experience conducting deep dive technical due diligence across all major quantum platforms.
