JHPC-quantum platform for Utility-scale QC-HPC hybrid computing with On-prem Quantum Computers
In the JHPC-quantum project, we aim to realize utility-scale quantum–HPC hybrid computing by deploying on-premises quantum computers, IBM’s superconducting quantum computer “ibm_kobe” and Quantinuum’s trapped-ion quantum computer “Reimei.” We have built the JHPC-quantum platform, which enables these quantum systems to be integrated with supercomputers such as Fugaku. Using this platform, we have achieved results approaching practical applicability in quantum chemistry applications, and the Test User Program (TUP), designed for external users to evaluate and utilize the platform, is already underway, with 21 projects currently in progress.

Quantum Machines' Open Acceleration Stack: enabling end-to-end capabilities for quantum-classical integration
We present Quantum Machines' Open Acceleration Stack, a modular framework integrating Quantum Machines’ hybrid controller with a flexible choice of classical accelerators, including GPUs, CPUs, FPGAs, and superchips, at microsecond latencies. The stack is designed around a key principle: the quantum program itself orchestrates classical compute resources, enabling intelligent and dynamic distribution of workloads across the full quantum-classical system. We demonstrate the Open Acceleration Stack through real use cases spanning closed-loop calibration on real qubits and error-corrected quantum algorithms, showing how the framework adapts to the demands of each workload in practice. This modular, open approach provides a concrete and scalable path to the integrated quantum-classical systems that fault-tolerant quantum computing demands.

Plaquette: Design-Automation Software for the Fault-Tolerant Era
As quantum hardware teams race toward fault tolerance, a critical bottleneck has emerged: designing and validating the architecture that turns thousands of noisy physical qubits into reliable logical ones. Plaquette is an industry-grade design-automation software platform that gives hardware teams instant access to a comprehensive library of quantum error-correction codes, state-of-the-art decoders, and a suite of proprietary simulators capable of capturing 20+ realistic error sources: including leakage, mode heating, and coherent errors, across superconducting, trapped-ion, neutral-atom, spin, and photonic platforms. Plaquette enables rapid architecture exploration and optimization, helping teams identify paths to commercially relevant fault tolerance years sooner than in-house approaches.

Validating the Quantum-Safe Stack: Turning Cryptographic Disruption into Infrastructure Advantage
Quantum computing will not merely break encryption—it will redefine digital trust. The real challenge is not adopting post-quantum algorithms, but engineering confidence across the entire communication stack—from photonic links and QKD systems to AI-native cloud and 6G infrastructures. This talk challenges the industry to move beyond compliance-driven migration and toward performance-validated quantum resilience. We will explore how PQC, QKD, and hybrid architectures can be continuously tested, measured, and optimized at scale—transforming quantum risk into a competitive advantage.

A Post-Quantum Cryptography Migration Framework for Healthcare and Industrial IoT: Research Foundation and Implementation Roadmap
This case study presents the development and active implementation of a post-quantum cryptographic (PQC) migration framework tailored for healthcare networks and industrial IoT environments. Grounded in over two decades of applied research in lattice-based cryptography and IoT security architecture, the framework addresses real-world engineering challenges in migrating constrained operational systems to NIST-finalized standards like ML-KEM (FIPS 203) and ML-DSA (FIPS 204). Healthcare and industrial IoT were identified as urgent-priority sectors due to their long data retention obligations and extended device deployment lifetimes, making them acutely vulnerable to harvest-now-decrypt-later threats. The framework adopts a crypto-agile, phased migration methodology incorporating hybrid ML-KEM/ECDH constructions, post-quantum authenticated boot chains for edge nodes, and a structured cryptographic surface audit process. The underlying research has accumulated over 5,000 citations, with active institutional engagement underway across the region.

Quantum Computing Software and Applications
Quantum computing is rapidly evolving from a purely academic field into a technology with real potential for industry. In this presentation, we will introduce Classiq’s approach to quantum software development, enabling the design, optimization, and deployment of quantum algorithms at a high level of abstraction. The session will combine an overview of the quantum computing stack with concrete demonstrations of how quantum algorithms can be built efficiently and adapted to real-world constraints.

Photonic Quantum Computing: Current Status and Future Prospects
Photonic quantum computers possess unique advantages not found in other hardware platforms and have made remarkable progress in recent years through unconventional strategies. In Japan as well, significant advances have been achieved, including the development of prototype machines and the establishment of related startups, drawing considerable attention. In this talk, I will introduce the principles and current research trends of photonic quantum computing, as well as our original “loop-based photonic quantum computer” towards large-scale implementation.
